Deadlines - who’d have ‘em?

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Well, today was a deadline day… My first website was supposed to be finished and… Nope. Still stuck on getting the blooming menu systems to work properly. My colleague said it wasn’t seriously expected to be up and running on time, as it was my first using the Content Management System at work. Still, I don’t think it’s going to trail far behind, there’s only two main parts to finish, then the content and styling review (making sure all the CSS is compliant, not tripping over itself), and then uploading to a test server for the client. I hope they’re going to be happy.
Went over to my friend’s tonight with my babe. It was his birthday, and a pretty cool Japanese meal was had. There was a lot of it. My babe was tired, so we had to duck out a little early so she could go home and rest. We’re going to meet up over the weekend at various intervals, and that should be good. She’s going to meet the parents, which could be ‘interesting’.

Anyway, I’m tired too. Too much code on the screen and not enough mountain walking…

:-D

Any excuse to go to Asda? Okay. I know when I’m beat. At least it’s going well at uni. You’ll do well, I know you will.

Can’t wait till you get back for the summer. Catch up and watch a few movies?

Early Morning - back to work…

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

Well, it’s tuesday am. I’m up at a time that seems impossible a month ago. I don’t feel fantastically fresh, but I’m awake. Things are going pretty great at the mo IMHO. Although iTunes decided to delete my entire Ipod again, losing 35gb of collected music from my CD’s, various netlabels and eMusic. Argh! Why? So I put a few CD’s back on to it, and the cover art doesn’t match! Still, I have a full archive of my music on my computer at work, so I’ll clear the Ipod and restore all the music from there.
My girlfriend gave me a book to read, saying it was very inspirational to her. She thought it would be good for me to read. It’s called ‘By Their Fruits - The Lasting Impact Of Toronto In The UK’. Seems quite good. Gonna start reading it today. I’ve not read much regarding Toronto, but what I have read has been pretty disparaging, and has put me off those kind of things. Now I’m not the kind of person to knock any move of God, in whatever form, but I like it to have some origin in biblical terms. I guess I’m a bit more reserved and analytical. But I am open to things too.
I’ll miss her, because we can’t meet up. I’m going out to an Indian restaurant tonight with our men’s group. Still, there’s a fleeting meeting (hey it rhymes!) tomorrow. I think I’ll have to arrange something for next month. Something special. :-)

Last one for this batch. Under the bridge in my town. Again, Minolta Dynax 404si, Ilford XP2 400 film. All these pics are scanned from negative. I still like to shoot film. I like the guesswork. It makes a moment more random, and cherished if it works. Digital people tend to shoot and look, then forget. I never forget a film shot that works.

Here’s another one. Arch at Devil’s Bridge, Clydach. Supposedly the inspiration point for Shakespeares Midsummers Nights Dream. *Supposedly*. Anyway, Minolta Dynax 404si, Ilford XP2 400 film.

Just thought I’d post up a few pics from my back catalogue. Here’s a black & white pic of some tree fungus. Taken on Minolta Dynax 404si. Ilford XP2 400 film.
